I am thinking about getting a pair of
very short (155 - 165) fun skis. I have enjoyed several ELAN ski models in
recent years and have been very satisfied with their versatility as well as
solid construction.
My boot choice
continues to be a 2 year old non-foam Nordica Speed Machine. This works with
my wider fore-foot and achieves a tight heel
grip. What a great boot. The best in comfort & performance I
have ever used.
Make sure you have a
power strap (or Booster) to keep maximum contact between your shin and the
bladder of the boot. When you make an ankle move you want it to translate into
action immediately.
Have strayed occasionally but
seem to always return to the Marker binding. The binding plus the base plate which comes with it results in
approximately 30 mm of lift which is important when using the shaped skies.
The following additional skis 'on paper' seem to be the
better high-performance skis on the market this year:
Some people say it is hard to find
a bad ski on the market today. With today's price tag - I say you better
be careful because they are just too costly to replace I you make a mistake.
